Draft Annual Business Plan 2017/2018 for Public Consultation

The City of Port Lincoln has released its Draft Annual Business Plan 2017/2018 for public comment from May 4, seeking community feedback on the plan, in particular the proposed new and upgraded capital projects and operational new initiatives for the year. 

The Draft Annual Business Plan has been developed to ensure consistency with Council's vision and is based on commitment to continuity of services and maintenance and completion of capital renewal programs as priorities that are sustainably funded.

To view the Draft Annual Business Plan Click Here, or you can view a copy at the Council office located at 60 Tasman Terrace, Port Lincoln; at the Nautilus Arts Centre, 66 Tasman Terrace; and at the Port Lincoln Library, 2 London Street, Port Lincoln during normal office hours from Thursday 4 May to Friday 9 June 2017.

The Council continues to work with increased governance, compliance and regulatory requirements with the planning for 2017/2018 includes a number of significant projects:

  • delivery of the $4.4 million expansion of the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre, fully funded by the Commonwealth Community Development Grant Program
  • replacement of the London Street Bridge, a $4.4 million project partly funded by a 50% partnership with the Bridges Renewal Fund
  • continued Road Reseal works of $550,000 per year, in a program planned to continue over the next nine years
  • stormwater project priorities including the design works to address flood risks in Liverpool Street and significant drainage works at Kaye Drive
  • redevelopment of the Skate Park including new street skating area and equipment.

The projects, programs and services proposed in the Draft Annual Business Plan are to be funded with an increase in rates revenue as follows:

  • revenue from the General Rate, 'rate in the dollar', is to increase by 4.4%, with an average increase to existing properties of 3.2%
  • the Fixed Charge portion of the General Rate is to increase by $10 (to $425) per property
  • the Waste and Recycling Charge is to increase by $7.4% - mainly due to the significiant increases in the State Government Waste Levy charges.

Submissions can be made via the online survey (preferred option), or a hardcopy of the survey can be found at the Council office, Nautilus Arts Centre and Port Lincoln Library, where you can rate your agreement or disagreement with what Council sees as important for the community and also indicate your priority for the proposed new and upgraded capital projects and operational initiatives for the year.

All completed survey entries lodged with Council will be placed in the draw with five lucky winners to earn themselves a $100 Gift Voucher to spend at the Nautilus Arts Centre.

ALL SUBMISSIONS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED AND RECEIVED BY COUNCIL BY 5PM FRIDAY 9 JUNE 2017

Public Meeting
Members of the community are invited to attend the Council meeting to be held on Monday 5 June 2017 at 7.30pm in the Council Chambers, where there will be opportunity to speak on behalf of your submission or ask questions in relation to the Draft Annual Business Plan.
